Blog EntryWORSHIP THE LORD, AND BECOME A WATERED GARDEN!Dec 18, '07 11:12 PM
for everyone

Is there anything as pleasant to visit on a hot, summer day, than a beautiful, well-maintained, watered garden, with shade trees and cool water flowing?  Such a garden is refreshing to most people.  The Lord wants to transform the lives of His sons and daughters, spiritually, into beautiful, watered gardens as an oasis to those in a dry and thirsty land, as well as to minister to His children with His streams, rivers and plantings. One of the ways He does this amazing work is through worship.

God had a plan for getting worship into the earth from the beginning.  Even after Adam and Eve sinned in the Garden of Eden, where the Lord had fellowship with them and provided everything they could possibly ever need, His plan to receive worship from the heart of man, the crown of His creation, proceeded in spite of the sin and frailties of mankind. Lucifer, who had been the archangel over worship in heaven before His rebellion against God, (Ezekiel 28), didn’t come close to thwarting the plan of God to receive man's worship, of which He is worthy.  The Lord created us, and He is intently interested in freeing man from all kinds of bondages conceived by the devil.  He knows how worship changes us into the image of Jesus.

As early as Genesis 4, the Lord saw to it that a man was born into the earth who would be skilled in music and worship.  “And his brother’s name was Jubal: he was the father of all such as handle the harp and organ.” Genesis 4:21 Jubal was the son of Lamech, seventh from Adam, and he was the great-grandson of Enoch, the man who walked so closely with God, that the Lord took Enoch up into heaven without his passing through death. Jubal was of the lineage of Seth, aslo, as recorded in Genesis 5.  He was an inventor of musical instruments.

Jubal (03106 Strong's) is a Hebrew word which means "streams, a river, moist country."  The English words, "jubilee,"jubilant", and "jubilation," are derivatives of the name, Jubal.  It is not difficult to make the connection between a word that means, streams, river, or watered country and words such as jubilation.  "There is a river, the streams whereof shall make glad (jubilant) the city of God, the holy place of the tabernacles of the most High."  Psalm 46:4 The opposite of a watered country or gardens is a desert, a wasteland, not words which bring joyful thoughts to the human mind or heart.

Other verses which agree with the link between worship and jubilation, a derivative of Jubal, and streams, rivers, watered country or gardens, abound.

"Then shall the lame man leap as an hart, and the tongue of the dumb sing: for in the wilderness shall waters break out, and streams in the desert."  Isaiah 35:6
“How goodly are thy tents, O Jacob, and thy tabernacles, O Israel! As the valleys are they spread forth, as gardens by the river's side, as the trees of lign aloes which the LORD hath planted, and as cedar trees beside the waters.” Numbers 24: 5-6

The Lord's comparison of worship to flowing streams and a moist, or watered, country is intentional, expressing the purposes of God in His children’s lives, as ones who have the Lord abiding within.  We need to just stop and meditate on the reality that WE HAVE THE LORD ABIDING WITHIN OUR HEARTS!  THE LORD IS COME TO DWELL IN YOU AND ME!  His desire for our lives is that we live in love, in peace, and in joy, bearing all the nine fruit of the Spirit. When we are carrying hurts, bruises, or scars from a broken relationship, it is impossible to worship the Lord and dwell on hurt feelings, or bondages of the enemy, at the same time that we are worshipping.  Worship will wash away these assaults on our souls in its everflowing streams.  Keeping worship music on in our homes helps us to remain in worship, which is essential in life's trials.  It helps us to hold our gaze on Jesus, instead of dwelling on a troubling situation or circumstance.

There are numerous Hebrew and Greek words which are translated praise and worship.   Singing, dancing, clapping, shouting, spinning with great joy--all of these are forms of worship given to us by the Lord.

Worship is a pure stream flowing from heaven through the spirit or heart, by the Holy Spirit from the children of the Father.  It unseats ’self’ from the throne of our hearts and gives the throne to Jesus.  He becomes the King of our hearts.  We place Jesus  in charge of our lives as we worship Him. The pure stream of heart worship to the Lord in a person’s life dislodges all the debris of hurts, unforgiveness, sin, rebellion and every bondage of the enemy, that he would want to use to stop the flow of life in the child of God as a worship unto the Lord.

Worship and praise are used by the Holy Spirit in healing physical sickness, because it rids people of the influences of spirits of infirmity.  Jesus said, "Shouldn't this daughter of Abraham be loosed of this infirmity, after being bowed over, suffering these eighteen years?"  The enemy and his cloven footprints will not stay long around a worshipping son or daughter of God.  We know that Christians cannot have demon possession, because we are possessed by the Holy Spirit.  But, we know, also, that the enemy tries to influence the lives and health of Christians.  We put him on the run with faith in the Word of God, the Sword, and worship, one of the offensive weapons which the Lord has given us against Satan.  "Praise stills the avenger," the psalmist said.

For the LORD shall comfort Zion: he will comfort all her waste places; and he will make her wilderness like Eden, and her desert like the garden of the LORD; joy and gladness shall be found therein, thanksgiving, and the voice of melody."
Isaiah 51:3

Worship is a very powerful and pure stream. It emanates from the indwelling Holy Spirit, Who is the dunamis (Greek) of God, or God’s great dynamo. There is no devil or evil of any kind that can withstand God’s dynamo of worship from the heart of His child. This is one of the reasons why worship in our daily lives is so very important. Worshipping with the saints in a gathering multiplies the power many times over.

The devil won’t stay in the presence of worship to the living God. He flees from it, because the combined power of the Holy Spirit and the empowered heart of the child of God is way too much for him. "Let the high praises of God be in their mouth, and a two-edged sword in their hand; ...to bind their (demon) kings with chains, and their nobles wih fetters of iron; to execute upon them the judgment written:  this honor have all his saints.  Praise ye the Lord."  Psalm 149:6, 8-9  God’s Word, which is forever settled in heaven, promises us victory as we worship and praise Him.  A very important part of a godly walk with the Lord is worship, making us like that tree planted by the rivers of water.

Lest anyone think that only the Old Testament scriptures teach us to worship the Lord, the New Testament teaches worship and praise in abundance.   And why shouldn't it?  Our Lord has accomplished His death, burial, resurrection, and ascension in every book of the New Testament.  All the more reason to worship and praise Him continually from our hearts!

"And when he was come nigh, even now at the descent of the mount of Olives, the whole multitude of the disciples began to rejoice and praise God with a loud voice for all the mighty works that they had seen;

Saying, Blessed be the King that cometh in the name of the Lord: peace in heaven, and glory in the highest.

And some of the Pharisees from among the multitude said unto him, Master, rebuke thy disciples.

And he answered and said unto them, 'I tell you that, if these should hold their peace, the stones would immediately cry out.' "  Luke 19:37-40

"And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart, praising God, and having favor with all the  people.  And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved."  Acts 2:46-47

"And he took him by the right hand, and lifted him up:  and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength.  And he leaping up stood, and walked, and entered with them into the temple, walking, and leaping and praising God."  Acts 3:6-8

"And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed, and sang praises unto God:  and the prisoners heard them.  And suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken:  and immediately all the doors were opened, and every one's bands were loosed."  Acts 16:25-26

"After this I beheld, and, lo, a great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues, stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and palms in their hands;

'And cried with a loud voice, saying, Salvation to our God which sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb."  Revelation 7:9-10

"And He showed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb."  Revelation 22:1

"And the Spirit and the bride say, Come.  And let him that heareth say, Come.  And let him that is athrist come.  And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely."  Revelation 22:17

"And the LORD shall guide thee continually, and satisfy thy soul in drought, and make fat thy bones: and thou shalt be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water, whose waters fail not."  Isaiah 58:11

"For as the earth bringeth forth her bud, and as the garden causeth the things that are sown in it to spring forth; so the Lord GOD will cause righteousness and praise to spring forth before all the nations." Isaiah 61:11

Scriptures which invite and command us as sons and daugthers of God, to worship Him, in singing, shouting, clapping, dancing unto the Lord, abound in both the Old and New Testaments, and fittingly so. We have a Wonderful God Who is worthy of all praise, worship, glory, and honor!  As we worship and glorify Him, He makes us like a stream, a watered garden. Do you need an oasis for all the dry places in your life today?  Worship Him!

Blog EntryThe Crystal SeaSep 29, '07 1:36 AM
for everyone

This word came forth in a worship service in the US.

The Crystal Sea

We worship You, Lord, we worship You, in the beauty of Your Holiness. This one thing we have desired, that we might dwell in the house of the Lord forever, that we might dwell in the house of the Lord forever, and behold the beauty of the Lord, and behold the beauty of the Lord.  Psalm 27:4

O, Lord, your beauty is so magnificent. Your beauty is glistering white, O, Lord, it’s all the colors in the rainbow, it’s like an emerald rainbow above your Throne, O Lord, O, Father God, O Father God.  All of heaven is alive with excitement, with love, with worship, with giving of all of oneself.  Life flows from heaven because You are the Giver of Life.  Life flows to this fallen world from heaven.  It flows from the River of Life that comes from beneath Your throne.  That pure clear and sparkling water, that pure sparkling water, O my God, how beautiful it is! The Sonlight dances on that sparkling water.  The Lamb’s light dances on the sparkling water, it looks like it’s made of diamonds.  It looks like it’s made of crystals that do not come from this earth.  It looks like the crystal sea.  The crystal sea is before your throne, O Lord, and the multitudes stand on the crystal sea, my God.

Thank you Lord it’s even like we’re there with them tonight, O, my God, O, my God, joy unspeakable, Lord, joy that can’t be contained within ourselves. You said we’d have it, Lord.  You said we’d have joy unspeakable and full of glory.

This is that, this is that, this is that, which the prophet Joel spoke of, Lord.  That in the last days, in the last days, Lord that you would pour out you Spirit upon all flesh, Lord, all flesh, Lord. You have and we know you will.  Complete your pouring out, O Lord, complete pouring out.  Pour out that breaker anointing, Lord, the anointing that breaks the yoke, it’s the anointing that breaks the yoke.  You break the yokes in our lives.  It’s the anointing of the Holy Ghost that breaks the yoke.   Break every yoke by the anointing of the Holy Spirit.  Break every yoke of fear and doubt, break every yoke of the enemy, break every yoke, in Jesus’ Name, by the Holy Ghost.

We stand on the crystal sea tonight.  O, thank You, Jesus, thank You for opening the door. You are the Door.  Thank You for opening the door to the throne room, Lord, through the veil of Your flesh, rent for us, that we might come into the Presence of the Father, into Your Presence.  There’s none like our Father, none like Jesus, none like the Holy Spirit.  You alone are God, You alone are God, You alone are God!

How sweet you are, O God, O God, how sweet you are, how sweet you are!  Your word is like honey on our lips, Your word is like honey on our lips.

You are coming for us, Come, Lord Jesus, come.  Help us to keep our lamps trimmed and our lamps full of the oil of the Holy Spirit, so that we will have enough oil.  You are the One who has the oil, the oil of the Holy Spirit, You are the one who replenishes the lamp, You are the source, the lamp, O God, the Light of the world, the Name of Jesus, the Blood of Jesus.

We want our lamps to be lit for you, O lord, we put down our stakes, we put down our stakes tonight, O Lord, we will be ready.  We will not let the enemy deter us, we will be ready when you come for us, with Your help and Your strength. The cry, “Behold, the Bridegroom cometh!” has been going out for decades.  The signs of your coming are all around, on every hand.  Fill us with greater desire for You and Your Holy Spirit, Lord.

Draw people by the millions and millions and millions to yourself.  Draw Israel to yourself, save her, O Lord, save her soul, through faith in Jesus, her Messiah, O, Lord!  Let it be so, Lord!

We stand in awe, we worship You Father, and we seem so small.  We thank You Father for all that Jesus has done for us.   Saving us, healing us, carrying away our sins…All yokes are removed from the necks of Your children, by the anointing of the Holy Spirit.  You make us to dance and to laugh and to give praises and honor to God, our Father, by the Holy Spirit.

Blog EntryThey Shall Mount Up with Wings as EaglesSep 8, '07 11:29 AM
for everyone

Isaiah 40:29-31   “They that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles.  They shall run and not be weary; they shall walk, and not faint.”

As we wait upon the Lord, as though we were waiting on and ministering to a very important person, in the way a devoted servant ministers to his earthly master, we have our strength renewed, and we mount up as wings as eagles.  We rise to soar with Him upon the wings of the wind, effortlessly, in pure joy, in perfect peace, and in holy love.  Our Master is a good master, loving us, caring for us, providing for us, and calling us His friends.  We not only serve Him and wait upon Him, but, we also fellowship with Him in intimate companionship and friendship.  Where would you ever find such a master except in our God!

Worship from a regenerated spirit and by the revealed truth of the Word of God is worship in spirit and in truth.  This is the desire of the Father for us, that we might be strengthened in the inner man and in the outward body, that we might enjoy our lives in Him and bring Him the fruit of love, joy, peace, faith, and all the fruit of the Spirit-- and souls, which is fruit that remains.  Worship equips us to minister not only to God, but to those in need of His blessing, sometimes in practical ways and sometimes in spiritual things.  Our God is worthy of unceasing praise and worship.

Blog EntryMagnify the LordAug 31, '07 1:26 PM

Many Christians allow circumstances to determine their level of worship when worship should really be disconnected from circumstances. If you allow the conditions of life to dictate your level of worship, they will also determine and limit your altitude. The only way to achieve the altitude of a God's Eye view is found in Isaiah 40:31:

"Those who wait on the LORD shall mount up with wings like eagles."

An elevated perspective changes everything. That is why you can come into a worship service weighed down with big troubles and insurmountable problems and suddenly sense a change the moment you catch an "updraft" of the Spirit. When you begin to worship, you ascend to join the Object of your adoration. Your Bible says that God "Made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus." Suddenly you find yourself soaring like an eagle in His presence.

If you are soaring in His presence, that means you are looking down on your problems. How do you wait on God? You worship Him. You anticipate divine needs and discern what the Holy Spirit wants. David wrote "Oh magnify the Lord with me" (Psalm 34:3) He was referring to worship. If worship magnified, then does its absence minimize?

A young virgin named Mary declared years ago, "My soul magnifies the Lord, and my spirit has rejoiced in God my Savior" What does it mean to magnify?

How can you magnify Someone that already fills the universe? The truth is you can't. If you take a magnifying glass and hold it to something the object appears bigger. In reality it is still the same size, but your perspective of it got bigger.

The process of worship does not make God bigger; it just makes Him appear bigger.

Why does the world have such a skewed view of God? One of the most important reasons is that we have not magnified God in the sight of the unsaved. They look at our misrepresentations and under-representations of Him and His kingdom and say, "Nothing we see there can help us. You people are as messed up as we are."

We must restore the principle of magnification. How? Worship magnifies God to the world. When they see and hear us praise God for His mighty works and His godly attributes, they begin to realize there is more to Him than meets the eye. When non-Christians hear how He transformed our lives, they begin to see Him for the first time. They then say, "If He can do that for them, then maybe He would do it for me too." This is the principle of magnification in operation.

God revealed Himself to the son of a moon worshiper and gave him a God-sized promise. Abraham used the rest of his life as a magnifying glass to declare and reaffirm God's power and ability to keep His impossible promise. Countless individuals, tribes, and people groups saw their first glimpse of God through Abraham's worship and faith. In the end, God's promise that all nations would be blessed through Abraham came through Jesus Christ.

These young people are finding the Lord as their Refuge, with some of them coming out of seemingly hopeless situations. They have been set free, and they dance and sing before the Lord with total freedom. We are to dance with all our might in worship, God's Word tells us. For much of my Christian life, I wasn't this free in worship, but the Lord set me free! He has placed David's tabernacle in our hearts!

Give glory, praise, and honor to the God of heaven and earth! Worship Him in the beauty of His holiness, and bless His holy name! For He is worthy, He is worthy, He is worthy! He has done great things, and He is of most excellent greatness!

Praise Him all the saints, for He loves you, and He has given His Best for you! Praise Him all the angels, praise Him all the heavens, for great and glorious is His Name! There is none to compare with Him!

"Kings of the earth and all peoples; Princes and all judges of the earth; Both young men and maidens; Old men and children. Let them praise the Name of the Lord, For His Name alone is exalted; His glory is above the earth and the heaven; And He has exalted the horn of His people; The praise of all His saints--Of the children of Israel, a people near to Him. Praise the Lord!" Psalm 148:11-14

Praise His Name with the sounds of your voice, praise Him in the dance, with the instruments of music. Highest praise and worship are due Him. There is no ceiling in worship and praise. There is always a "Come up higher." For He is above all, and He deserves heart worship from His children.

Enter His Presence with singing and joyful worship! Step into heavenly heights where you have never been before. He will be there waiting for you, and His heart will be overflowing with delight and joy in you.

Let everything that has breath praise the Lord!

Worship the Lord, all lands, nations, tribes, and tongues!  For He is the God of Power and Might, the God of miracles, signs and wonders, and He loves you!  Render unto Him your highest praise, and worship Him in the beauty of His Holiness!  He alone is God, for beside Him there is no other!  He gave you life and breath, for He alone is the Creator.  He is without beginning and without end, for He always was, always is, and always shall be.

The Father, Son, and Holy Spirit is the God of all glory, and He desires that you come to Him, in faith, believing that He loves you with a burning love that compelled Him to give His Only Son on the Cross for you.  He will save you from your sins, He will heal you of your sicknesses and diseases, He will set you free from the devil's oppression, and He will daily care for you.  He will bring you out into a large place as you give your heart to Him and follow Him.  The Lord will fill your heart with joy unspeakable and full of glory, because He is a God of great joy and love.  He will change you into the image of His dear Son, Jesus, as you yield to the Master Potter.  Hear and believe Him today.

"Who shall not fear thee, O Lord, and glorify thy name? for thou only art holy: for all nations shall come and worship before thee; for thy judgments are made manifest."  Revelation 15:4

"He brought me forth also into a large place; he delivered me, because he delighted in me."  Psalm 18:19

Worship is very important in our lives as believers. The strengthening joy of worship equips us for service. We go up to the Mountain of the Lord in worship, then, waiting at the foot of the Mountain are those needing the touch of the Master through our hands and hearts of comfort. Jesus ministers to them through us, after we've been to the Mountain with the Him. In His grace, Betty
